why can't I get fit?????

Post by mom-of-3 »

Ok so I am 30 yrs old and I have 3 healthy boys. 10, 8, and 4. After divorce I managed to get smaller and more fit then I was in highschool. I am 5'5 and 130lbs. I remarried last year and since then I have slowly gotten more fluffy. husbanf is insanely fit.. he and I have known one another since we were kids. I workout with him daily and we as a family eat healthy. He has two boys as well 5, & 6. So I am on the move always. I workout and lift small weights but still fluffy. Hubby says its in head but I wish phon ne would let me upload photo. Im thin in arms and legs but and back just look fluffy and pudgy. Please someone give me advice. I do have stress being a mom to 5 boys and I hear stress causes fat. But honesly I work out stomach and all over body daily. I drink water and green tea. family only eats chicken and turkey meals. No pork. We gave baked meals no fried and eat high protien foods. I feel I'm doing everything right but still the pudge.

Stress can increase cortisol levels which can also cause abdominal fat deposits.

It can also affect muscle mass by causing some kind of damage to some of the protein in your diet and as 1lb of muscle burns an exta 45-50 calories per day, then were you to lose some muscle you could potentially cause fat increases.

The workouts might need to be beefed up in terms of weight and intensity. Many females get hung up about bigger lifting. Rubbish like looking manly, testosterone increases causing hair growth, etc etc, as that's rubbish as stated.

So if you're doing this one set on a muscle with 15-20 reps stuff, pitch it out as it's practically worthless.

2 sets of 8-10 reps with more weight wil be better, because you can potentially create the effect In the long-term, that I described above about muscle burning fat.

If you already train like this, then that's okay, but out of interest how does your training look?

I agree that you have to increase your intensity. If you can already do something why would your body need to change to do it again. You need to do shorter more challenging workouts, this can mean heavier, faster or different moves than you do now. Also, keep your carbohydrates down to around 40% of calories. Fats and proteins at 30% each. Try adding sprint intervals on a bike or if you run. Studies show sprint training actually reduced mid and lower body fat best.

Why lift small weights? You have to challange your body to make a change. it`s not like bodybuilders got to where they are by daring to touch a heavy dumbell so it`s not you should worry about getting to big or anything either.

cardio and running are great ways to lose weight quickly, be sure to compliment it with weight training to keep it off. Lean muscle eats up fat. Also, eating properly and knowing your body. Everyone is different so don't get locked into someone else's programming, it might not be what is best for you and your body type.
