HIIT How often to be most effective?
I am doing HIIT for 20 minutes Mon-Fri at 4:30 A.M. rest on Sat and Sun. Is this too much? What is the most effective way to do HIIT?
Re: HIIT How often to be most effective?
I would suggest you take one othe HIIT sessions and do it on Saturday or Sunday.
You could then do it in this kind of way.
Day 1. HIIT
Day 2. HIIT
Day 3. HIIT
Day 4. Day off
Day 5. HIIT
Day 6. HIIT
Day 7. Day off
Keeps the days off split up, so you're not potentially eating into progress having back to back off days and then you're not training 5 days straight either.
Alternatively switch days 6 and 7 and days 3 and 4, to get the same result, with no more than 3 days at a time being done.
This might work better for you.

Every second day or just 2/3 times a week for beginners. They do take quite a while to recover from unlike normal cardio.
