Hi Zedge, good to speak to you.

You would realistically need to alter your diet in some way.

What foods do you eat and what times do you eat at?

Abs are made in the kitchen, man. If you're not eating clean 90% of the time you're just not going to see them no matter how much ab work you do. Echoing Bossman, you have to get control over your diet...you can start by keeping track of what you eat each day. If you want to put something together, I'm happy to take a look and see what initial changes you'd want to implement.

Hi Zedge25,

I agree with the others on the diet which is a really important part although it is NOT only the problem here. Now first, remember that everybody is different and we all have a different metabolism! There isn't a single rule that will have the same result for each individual so you will need to adapt yourself. Your friend is lucky, his metabolism allows him to gain muscle faster than others without struggling with a specific diet.

In your case I would advise 3 things:
1. Change your food habits, cut the bad fat of your meals, eat healthier and at regular times (no need a drastic diet yet)
2. Start burning the low fat . This part is the worst one as it is the hardest to lose for everybody. In order to do so, start doing some cardio. As you are training your abs since a long time, you probably have them hidden ;) so the only thing you need right now is to BURN what's hiding them. Start running outside only 3 times a week first. You will work a program later on if you are really motivated.
3. Keep exercising your abs. 4 to 5 times a week is a good rate and don't forget to exercise all parts and especially the low ones.
Try and apply these and let me know how it went!

if you want more on the subject I advise you read this article too : http://www.buildingurbody.com/workouts- ... s-workout/

Cheers!
