Cheat days

Post by trainhardeveryday »

Hey all, just wanted to ask a few questions regarding cheat days.
I normally have cheat days once a week. Throughout the week I maintain a low calorie diet and I strength train six times a week. However, I do enjoy that cheat once a week where I would eat whatever I want.
Just a few questions out of curiosity:
1. If you have a special occasion or trip for example, would having cheat days on two consecutive days have a negative impact?
2. Is it ok to have a cheat day during a rest day? I tend to usually have cheat meals during a day when I still work out, however sometimes, due to circumstances, I'd have to have cheat day on a rest day. Can that be detrimental?
Thanks! :D

The consecutive days theory would not negatively impact unless it was every single week.

In regards to the second thing you asked about; no it would probably not be detrimental, based on your eating the rest of the week and the type of activity you did as well as the frequency of it.

Thanks boss man, also one other question. I normally eat 1600-1700 calories per day and I have lost quite a bit of body fat, however I have a hunch that I might be under-eating, considering I do that amount of exercise. I am around 5"6 and I weigh 123 pounds. Should I increase daily calorie intake?

1,800 calories a day is the sedentary female average, so you're pretty much within a reasonable ballpark for that, but on exercise days, definitely go for another 400-500.
