Hi,
i really like working out but im findin it hard to be motivated to do it more often so if anyone has any advice on how to encourage myself i would be very thankful
I think we all go through period where we seem to lack in motivation. At times I find that I have a little too much on plate or I'm not getting enough sleep or not taking time to do things I enjoy. This is life. I've found that I keep motivation by constantly changing program to keep me from getting bored and to keep the results coming. You might try switching up your workout. I also find it motivating to look at picutures of super fit people so I can remember what I'm working towards. I also look at pictures of myself a couple of years ago to remember how far I've come. Sometimes it helps to write down your goals so you can see in black and white why you're exercising and eating right. If I'm really struggling I'll just take a couple of days off from diet and come back strong in a couple of days... sometimes a simple break helps a lot.
I hope this helps! :)

It must be combined with venture.
It is not enough to stare up the steps,
We must step up the stairs."

Cassie I love that quote as it emphasizes the DO portion of life. Anyone can TALK about how great they're going to be in x number of days, weeks, months...
These are all awesome tips. I use most of them, but I wanted to add:
1. Youtube videos. Tons of free advice from fitness models/trainers.
2. Using the tools here on shapefit like FitTracker if you're not a pencil/paper type guy like me. I like to actually write it down and make things like workout and diet official. It motivates me.
Also, don't forget about the need to motivate others. I decided today to compliment a VERY well built college football player type today at the gym who was cranking out 225 on the bench for a set of 20, then a set of 12. I approached him at the end of workout and said, "Those 225's you were doing for 20, that was awesome!" He smiled and said, "Thanks".
It was stupid of me to think that you can't compliment strangers in the gym. If you compliment correctly, it can really make people feel good, and don't we all want to be recognized for our hard work, no matter what is it that we work hard on?
