I just started the Waterbury yesterday and will do so for the next 4 weeks. I really feel it in legs this morning after the 10x3 set/rep scheme. I hoping for some phenomenal results at the end of the program.

next question for swanso at that time will be, What next?

What's next after MAX OT?

Post by darius3000 »

Hello everyone.
I am in week 9 of 12 of MAX OT training. The gains in mass have been great. But I've put on too much fat.

I know I can cut up and lose a lot of this.

Can you recommend a cutting program on Shapefit or elsewhere?

Current stats:
6'3"
272 lbs
25%bf
193 lbs muscle mass

(I used body comp. monitor scale to get the above numbers)

Thanks for your help!

Thanks Swanso, for helping me realize obesity problem. I think I'm eating the RIGHT foods it's just that I'm consuming too much of it. Milk, almonds, nuts...way too much of those. Milk could be keeping me fat.

Thanks again.

max ot would work just as good as a cutting program with a few modifications...look out for nuts, yes they have the good fats in them but are packed with cal's...maybe put some cardio in to off set the extra cal's...actaully that's what i'd do, increase activity before cutting cal's

When I began working out, I will admit I started with this program as a friend recommended it. I did very well on it and saw results that were realistic. You need to keep in mind that keeping fit or getting in shape is a process of a well balanced diet paired with a good workout routine. If your a novice to exercise, I liked the program. Once I became a bit more advanced in training, I moved on to other things. Good luck to you and your endeavors!

That's a great comment. So each workout day might include 30 min. of intense lifting, following by 30 of HIIT? I don't count calories, but I'm guessing I take in between 2200 and 2500 cal/day.

i'd start at easier cardio and see if that works, you dont wanna use all your "recovery" calories

Ok, sounds good. Max OT says you should take a week off 8-9 weeks in, so that's what I'm deciding to do right now ( body is really feeling all those weeks!).
I'm going to do cardio for this whole week without weights and also do abs.
When I start back with weights in 2 weeks, I'll do light cardio, maybe 30 min. on the treadmill at moderate intensity.

Thanks.

 Body for life worked for some of the guys I work with. Its kinda rough (at least it was for me) starting out with, but after 2weeks it was a one of the easiest diets that I was ever on ( not tring to sell the diet either). I'm going to start it a again in a few days.

I'm glad you like it, although I will say, that's the problem with things like that. It's classed a "diet", because it restricts you.

Evne things like Zone, restrict people so they're not supposed to have top understnading, things like Rice, Pasta, Bananas, some cereals, etc etc, which is wrong in opinion, as those things might be high GI, (Bananas borderline low / moderate), but that doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't eat them it menass you should moderate consuption to small portions or with Rice and Pasta 2-3 times a week or maybe every day in little amounts.

I say this as such foods are nutritious, and are often good for things like Minerals, Vits, protein, Carbs etc etc, and shouldn't be villified in any diet.

The main thing is don't consume loads of Sugar, bad Fats, Salt, Red Meat, Tuna content in Fish, and excess calories, though Red Meat and Fish are fine in moderation.

A "diet" is often overly restrictive, though some are less restrictive than others, and in some cases, some Diets are plain wrong, unhealthy, or teach you little about method or reason.

I would say if it works for you then fine :), but I wouldn't personally endorse any specific diet plan.

Just thoughts for you.
