Hi everyone
Could someone please tell me if there is a difference between weight training and weight lifting or is it the same thing? I was looking up some more information about women and building muscles and was a bit confused as it was referred to as weightlifting and the diets are very low carbs. I was comparing it to the diets in the shapefit forum.
I had started, but had fallen off the wagon and want to get back on. I also think i have been doing a rubbish workout with weights, but don't always understand the type of workouts described in the forum. Just need some guidance.
Thanks

Weight training and weight lifting are different ways of saying the same thing.
For most people who are not competitive body builders, a good standard sensible diet is fine. I would not get too crazy over protein and carbs if your body weight is within 15% of your ideal. Just watch some of the calories and add the exercise and a few months from now you should look pretty good.
As for exercises themselves, you want to get a program that is balanced.
It should be balanced for all body parts. You should work all your muscles (upper body, lower body, torso) equally.
It should include a nice balance of cardiovascular/strength training work.
A well-balanced routine will result in a well-balanced body; one that works well and moves well.
