Lifting Gloves for Women Grrr

Post by AnnaCruzDC »

Can anyone recommend some decent weight lifting gloves? I was looking at Valeo and Harbinger. I'm tired of the sweaty grips... Thanks!

A good type are ones with little bobbles on them, which help with grip supposedly, as the smoother leather ones, maye still be a bit slippy for some.

Harbinger is the best in opinion.

Thanks! Yea, another woman was telling me to get Harbinger. I'll hit up the sports store this weekend and a pair up!

I use fingerless leather ones (I also use them for motorbiking in the summer!) just make sure you get ones that fit right, if they're too loose the glove will rub your palm while you're holding the weights and if they're too tight you'll restrict circulation to your hands and loose grip.

Get whatever feels comfy!

fingerless cycling gloves do the trick for me!

Ps. I HATE sweaty grip, particularly when doing roman-chairs :x

Try this--it works surprisingly well.

Take a piece of scrap leather about 6" square and in one corner cut an opening sufficient for your thumb to fit through. Then simply put the leather on your hand so it covers your palm and grab the bar.

It works well, you can find scraps of leather by cutting up discarded jackets (recycling is a good idea you know) and your hands don't get really sweaty. They come off and go on quickly.

I used this for many years.

Interesting idea, although wouldn't it be better to take the Jackets down to a charity shop, helps charities, and make a it of money for your old tat on the side?

Not disparaging your idea, just saying.

I've never owned a leather jacket. Never been thing. Same with denim ones. I think I'd have needed to be born about 40 years earlier, and then become one of those Greaser Greg types, with the Ducks Arse hairstyle, so I could get away with an L J .

Hey Bossman - you making fun of us old geezers! I had both a leather AND denim jacket! :)

I thought it was a good idea Packard!

As far as lifting gloves - I just picked up second pair, I couldn't tell you what brand they are - but whatever you do, don't get ones that say for "Women" ! They are flimsy and fall apart!

now I am using GOFit, I think I got them at Dick's sporting goods store
