getting defined abs using Ab Lounge
Hi, i have been doing ab exercises using the Ab Lounge (commmercial ab machine) for a few months now and have had results. Before i started using the Ab Lounge i had virtualy no ab muscles and now abs are rock hard, the problem is that goal has not been completely achieved. I want to have a 6pack and ab strength is a second priority to me.So i'm not sure if im getting the maximum results possible. I would also like to know if the Ab Lounge is better than doing crunches and following those ab videos. If you could please tell me what i should do in order to have a 6pack (including a diet, no matter how boring it is) and also an approximation on how long it will take for me to have a 6pack (considering im already quite skinny 5'9" 135lb BMI 18.5 and you can already see parts of abs but without much definition. Thanks for the help.
Hi there,
the ab lounge is an expensive and unnecessary piece of equipment. Crunches, as well as the many other ab and core exercises out there are as good or even better.
To get the 6 pack abs what you have to achieve is a low level of body fat. You can have the best developed muscles in the world, but if they are covered in fat you won't be able to see them. This is done through diet. Eating a healthy diet, and eating fewer calories than you burn in a day will cause you to lose fat. As for exactly what you should eat I won't make specific recommendations because I don't know the details of your specific needs.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for replying (although i wish i had known that before i bought the Ab Lounge) and i know what you're saying is right but the problem is that i already have a pretty low bf%, i would say it's anything from 13%-8% (don't know exactly, all those measurement tests are extremely inaccurate) and muscles are pretty developed so i don't know what i'm doing wrong except i have started eating more veggies and fruits and i'm going to try doing weighted crunches etc. (because i can do up to a 100 crunches on teh A.L. so i'm goign to try exercises that i can't do mroe than 10-15 reps with)because of the advice ppl gave me on this forum. The other problem is that i can't lose more fat before i add some mucle mass and since i can't d both at the same time i'm afraid i'll lose all the muscle mass i have gained so far...
P.S. diet is pretty good and i have tried but i can't make it any better (because of a lot of different reasons) except maybe adding more calories...
Thanks for the help
