Hello all. I am a 36 yo man who is currently having issues with his hands. No other joint pain, just hands. They are stiff and sometimes painful, much like a person with arthritis would complain. I'm kind of worried about this. Could it have been brought about by handling weights? I've been lifting since I was 21. Also, I am a tennis player but that is just a lot of use of right hand. Both hands just don't feel right.
Can anyone relate and also recommend a course of action? I have been using OTC creams and they do provide some relief.
Thx.
Darren

If it is Arthritis, you will have rtouble getting over it, because it's caused by a reduction of Synovial Fluid.
It may be some kind of Tendonitis, (Tenosynovitis), which means you may need things like Cortisone, NSAIDS, or worst cases scenario a Tendonectomy, where parts of the inflammed Tendons get removed.
If it is Arthritis, there's onlt things like Medications or supplements that might help. Supplements could include MSM, Glucosamine + Chondritin, possibly some Fatty Acid supplements, as examples.
If OTC meds aren't working, you might need to be given something stronger that's prescription, possibly even Steroids.
However you need to get it checked out, because we can't tell you what it is, or how ot treat it if possible, just suggest things, and make you aware of possibilities.

OK, thank you. Do you recommend I go to family doctor or should I head straight for a specialist?
