working out in the morning?

Post by ChoYongGi »

is it really true that if you work out in the morning you burn 3x more fat and that your metabolism is boosted?

It is reckoned Metabolism is higher in the morning than later in the day, but getting exaggerated Fat burn is almost certainly not true, bearing in mind you would get differing results depending on if you'd eaten nothing, had a shake, had some Fruit, eaten a full on meal etc etc, not to mention the many differing types of Cardio, duration, speed, intensisty etc etc, which can all be counted in the mix.

i started doing it in the morning to free up evenings as i was always tired after work. i would have thought it was better because if i work out in the morning ive got at least 6 meals afterwards whilst recovering that will benefit me?

Differing opinions.

Some say it works better for you, espeically when things like Test and GH might be higher, but some say around the 1PM-5PM time is good, because for most people, the body has properly woken up, and isn't yet winding down, and you've probably had a good 3 meals, and are nice and nutrient fueled. Sleep and work habits partly having an influence on this biological waking, winding down rhythm of course.

There are different opinions. I think as long as you are working out. No matter the time of day that is what is important. I personally have switched workout to the morning because that is when I have the energy to do it and I get it done and out of the way. I don't "love" working out. Especially HIIT days so if I leave it for the afternoon. After work I am to tired to do it and I have to think about it all day. Mornings are good because I get in, get it done and don't have to worry about it. Whatever works best for you is key.

I'm a morning girl...I'm up early with kids everyday, plus working second shift doesn't allow for much time after work to hit the gym. workouts are much more effective in the a.m. anyway. But I agree it is a personal preference. As long as your working out....your doing your body good not matter what time it is;)

I love working out in the morning. I have much more energy so definitely get a better workout then. I think it just depends on the person and when you have the most energy.

personally, at this time and so far since I've been working out, mornings are just a tough go. I like getting up early to do photography or go fishing but for exercise, I just have to wait a few hours. best time is right after work or on weekends late morning or late afternoon.

I would like to workout in the mornings, but work pretty much prevents it. So workout in the evenings and have been for years. Mental imagery is the key behind staying motivated.
I do believe morning workouts are more effective (than evening) for most people.

I love morning workouts - nothing to interfere with the schedule except maybe sleeping in :) And it gives me a level of energy for the whole day that I didn't have before - so, I must be burning more calories! But everyone is right - whatever works for you as long as you workout!
