cardio per BPM and 45 min for calories!

Post by csmith6089 »

K so i started a gym Jan 5th...
started doing a cross trainer about 1 1/2 weeks later...

I started at 30 min at 187 BPM to 200 (only held for less then a min)
90 % of the time i did 190 - 197 BPM= 30 min

2 months later i did 187 - 195= 45 min

3 months later i now do 177 - 180 = 45 min
85 watts, and 2.00 miles

So is this bad to go down when i know i can go much faster.... :?:
Does ths hurt fat loss process over time.... :?:
So far i have lost 7 lbs... and about 3 inches?
Which is better.... fast at 195 BPM or slower at 180 BPM? :?:
FYI:
I have gone down 100 calories when i hit 45 min and .10 miles

There is no way in hell that your heart rate is that high when you run, if it is you wouldn't be posing on this forum. Max heart rate is 220 - age so do the math. What it says is your heart rate on the treadmill isn't actually your heart rate but if you did want to know your real heart rate then you would need to get a product that actually determines it, not the ones on machines.

Try to stay 65-85% of your maximum heart rate for cardiovascular benefits.

I do have a heart rate monitor watch and strap i wear everytime!

maybe the machine is busted..... i have also never entered weight or age or any other technical begining question.. i just go
So maybe that is another thing to look into......

But I have hit 200 BPM on watch and on the machine... gotten a ringing in ear and seeing slight black... but i didnt faint and I was able to do this 3x's in 30 min for less then a min each time....
Really i just wanted to see how fast i could go... and how long

So i will try to input p's & q's next time and go from there.

That's not a good thing  If you hit/go over your MHR you can / will die!
