Six Pack Help !

OK I've been doing this workout at home 2/3 times a day for the past week : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fU_8kJeXeE

I'm 18 and Ive always been skinny so there's little body fat around stomach. I've noticed some results, there is a faint outline and is hard when tensed. I think diet is pretty good, I have muesli for breakfast and eat fairly consistently throughout the day e.g fruit, veg, yoghurt, nuts, potatoes etc. Im also making a real effort to cut out junk foods completely.

Just wandering if there's advice for someone new to this. Was also interested about protein shakes as I'm not sure I get enough into the diet. How necessary are they, are there any side effects and which ones would you recommend? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Protein powder. 3 main ways to have it.

1. A serving after a workout. Strictly not necessary, but the best of the 3 options.

2. A serving before bed, for anti-catabolic reasons. Optional.

3. Half a scoop with Breakfast to boost Protein intake. Optional.

If you do get one, one with Carbs, or if you get a Carb free use something like Crushed Oats to give you Carbs, to help Protein synthesis, by creating an Insulin spike.

If it doesn't taste quite right, add things like a bit of honey, Vanilla Essence, Ground Nutmeg, Ground Ginger or Cinnamon.
