Foot Pain After Running, Jumping Jacks etc

I get a bad "burning" kind of pain on the bottom of feet after running, jumping or any other activity like that. Any ideas?

It sounds like you might be causing yourself Plantar Fasciitis.

The Plantar is a fiberous strip that runs from the Heel area to the ball of the foot. It can be inflammed by a lot of activity, tight Achillies or by a weight problem too.

You might be using the wrong kind of footwear possibly, or worn out footwear, or you might be using a poor technique. Perhaps if not, use the balls of your feet to land on, then plant the Heels, instead of possibly flat foot planting if you are doing that, as that kind of total foot plant after landing may encourage Shin Splints in the future.

You might also find that some kind of Orthotics correct the issue you're having.

As it's happening on the underside of the Feet, I'd rule out any Tendonitis in the Toe area, or a direct Achillies heel problem, although as stated P F can be aggrevated by a tight Achillies.

shoes won't matter, it's an overuse injurie - stop them and get off your feet

also get a golf ball and roll the bottom of your feet with it

I agree with Boss Man, the right kind or proper fitting running shoes might help the issue. Make sure your running shoes have a wide toe box, to keep from squeezing, or crowding your toes. Old or worn out shoes can contribute to foot pain. Running shoes should be replaced approx. every 300 miles. Try running on trails, grass, dirt - staying off of concrete streets or pavement. But as Swanso said - you should refrain from running or jumping until the injury is resolved - running injured will only result in becoming more injured - trust me I've "been there done that!"
Not sure if this article is specifically for your individual foot pain, but it might help, or give you some info on foot injuries in general.

Thanks guys. I do have new shoes, I replace them every six months or so. I usually buy motion control or stability. I do have almost no arch and was told that motion control would be the best for me. I appreciate all the feed back.

Do you have money / insurance to go to a Podiatrist? Solution can be as simple as getting their own department of rehabilitation, which is what helped me. I had sore feet with the shoes felt different, different drills, etc. But the rehabilitation ward, which I used only during training, solve it.

I had a similar problem after years of running and playing sports.

Most of the time I would use shoes not designed for running, which ended up making me flat-footed and destroyed arch. Following this I went from running 10 miles every other day, to not being able to run at all for several months.

But after purchasing minimalist shoes(I've purchased 3 just to find a pair that didn't tear or break after a few runs), I fixed running technique.

Now I'm able to run long distances rarely or short distances daily, just not long distances daily.
