2 years

Post by meaok77 »

It's been 2 years since I joined this site, and I love it! Been absent for a long while...computer fried and got a new one (silly me couldn't remember the site address!!!! )

Anyway.

goal when I signed up was " To get back into pre-pregnancy clothes or smaller. " since I had signed up almost 1 year after daughter was born. It was a struggle for me. And finally...2 years later I can fit into pre-pregnancy clothes. However, I still have a long way to go! It's been an interesting journey, so far, and I've learned a lot. biggest thing I've learned is to not rely so much on the numbers on a scale (which I did in the beginning). I used to get so frustrated when I didn't see the numbers go down (at all or as fast as I would've liked to see them go down). I've learned that preferred way of seeing if I've lost weight is by use of clothes. I still have scale, but I don't rely on it as much, and I don't depend on it as much anymore either. In fact, after I realized I could fit into pre-pregnancy clothes, I jumped on the scale the next morning. It's interesting how your body distributes...erm... "stuff" after having a child. 3 1/2 years ago when I originally fit in these clothes, I weighed 170Ibs. I fit in those same clothes, but the scale is not at 170Ibs. <--not a good " "

Maybe it's fat, maybe I gained muscle... (I think I have more fat to lose than muscle I had gained...and I feel that is proof with the pictures I took a couple of weeks ago), maybe it's a little of both....who knows...all I know is I made first goal, I'm in pre-pregnancy clothes. Now to work on getting into smaller clothes. As much as I want the scale to say weight is lower...I'm more interested in getting into smaller clothes than what a number says.

congratulations on fitting into the prepregnancy clothes. i rely on the scale a lot too which your right i probably shouldn't. It's funny that you posted today. I was reading some posts you made a two years ago about bodyrocktv the other day and was wondering how you were doing. :) Thanks for the comments you made about bodyrock and zukia light. Are you still doing those websites now?? Glad it's going well for you. :D

It's good to see you around again :).

You've got every reason to be proud of yourself. Yes it's been frustrating at times and sometimes you've felt a little confused about how to progress and unsure if it's still worth it, but never giving up is a true sign of belief, however difficult things seem and however much an individual wants to give up and just believe their weight problem is who they have to be, because it's not their right to have a better self, because it is their right to have a better self, but the effort and the right method(s), need to be there as well.

Your little one is going to be growing up in such a wonderful household, with a mother they can look up to, because you can learn and pass on so much and be a good rolemodel to them and anyone like you has the ability to be a good female rolemodel and a beacon of hope for others in a similar situation to where you were when you started on this journey.

I believe some of your weight flctuation could be muscle, so thinking the scale is not going down quickly enough, needn't have been a long-term niggle, because added muscle burns more calories, so added muscle is metabolically beneficial and is a females friend, not their enemy.

If only more females would realise this and stop wasting their time doing 20 rep sets, with 20 lbs of weight on a machine.

I'm proud of you for continuing to work at this for your own good and hopefully to the benefit of your child by the education and inspiration you can give.

The main thing is to keep on believing, be strong, chin up and keep pushing. It's always terrific to have you around Andrea and you do make a difference to others here and no matter how good or bad a day is, there will always be someone here to rejoice with you or console with you, or just give fresh perspective, so we are all here for you and we are all pushing and pulling for you as well and always have been and if you really need to dump on someone when you don't want to do it to other people, around you, PM me anytime and we'll work through what's bothering / troubling you, as moderators can be there for that and it's never a trouble.

Keep going and GOOD LUCK. You're a superb individual and a true, genuine and heart-warming Lady and you deserve a healthy future and if you keep doing the things you're doing, I know you'll get where you physically want to be and have the right ability to stay there.

Good to see you around again :).

musculArgirl2--I check in with bodyrock on personal FB account (I have them "liked") so I check out their workouts when they post them, but I don't really follow them. I use their tools to create own workout sessions since I don't have a lot, no wait...I have none of the equipment they have. So I watch their videos to get ideas of exercises I can incorporate into workout(s). I do follow their "interval" workout (10 seconds rest with 50 seconds working out, but instead of doing it for only 12 minutes (as their workouts are) I do it for 20 minutes and I incorporate own exercises into it (some exercises I use from their site, but I've never really done the workouts they post)). I haven't really done Zuzana's yet...I tried one of hers weeks ago (this one: http://youtu.be/XB7k7NzYSPQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) and I was dead afterwards. :P

Bossman--thank you so much for the lovely post! Totally made night.

Thanks all!

bf recently saw how dedicated I am, this time around, to losing weight, and agreed to finally bring treadmill up from the basement and into our bedroom.
Am now using treadmill for walking/jogging 5 days a week for 30 minutes (realized last month, after gaining a small amount of weight, that I wasn't doing as much cardio as I thought I was. I was only doing about 10-15 minutes of cardio, with about the same amount of strength), so I changed workout so that I am doing 30 minutes of cardio with 10-15 minutes of strength (total of 40-45 minutes of workout each time) and just in that first week of changing workout I've dropped another pant size.
Finally threw out "fat pants" (well, didn't throw them out, but I cut them up and am using the cloth for other things--no going back now! ).

Congratulations! Most women who gave birth hardly fit into their pre-pregnancy clothes. Glad you made it. It still feels good that we feel sexy even after giving birth and become busy taking care of our child.
